HRC Pistol – First Shots Training is the course for you.

The Holyoke Revolver Club (HRC) Pistol – First Shots Training is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to one specific pistol action type for classes of eight or fewer students. This course is at least three hours long and includes classroom and “Live Fire” range time learning to shoot a specific pistol action type. Students will learn the rules for safe gun handling; the particular pistol model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development at the Holyoke Revolver Club.  Students will receive a Gun Safety Rules brochure and a HRC Pistol – First Shots Training certificate.

The cost of the class is $75.00 for Non-Members     -     $55.00 for Members


The Holyoke Revolver Club (HRC) requires that new members applicants attend the HRC Range Safety Training and Orientation Class.  New Member Applicants that do not demonstrate the knowledge, skills and attitude to safely fire their firearm at the New HRC Range Safety Training and Orientation, will be directed to take this class before they can become a member. 

Members are also welcome to take this class to learn more about a specific hand gun they might have just purchased.

Cancellation Policy:

Due to limited enrollment payment is non-refundable. Rescheduling will be allowed for the next available class only if the cancellation is made a minimum of four (4) days before the class so that the reserved seat can be filled. Cancellation on the day of the class is considered a ‘no show’

PRACTICAL MATCHES


Practical matches are held on the second Saturday of each month. New shooters should arrive at 9 a.m. for safety instruction. Participants should bring a centerfire pistol or revolver and 100-150 rounds of ammunition, extra magazines and speedloaders, an OWB Holster (outside the waistband), a baseball cap along with eye and ear protection. Dan Jones is in charge. Volunteers are always needed to set up the stages please arrive at 8 a.m.

BENCH REST RIFLE

Bench Rest Rifle shooting season in now underway.
Bench rest shooting is a sport in which very accurate and precise rifles are shot at paper targets from a rest or bench from a sitting position.
Bench-rest competitions are held on the first and second Saturday (and the 5th Saturday if there is one).
Set up time is 9am. Matches start at 10am sharp.
The cost of the competition is $1.00 per target.

NRA & GOAL AFFILIATIONS

The Holyoke Revolver Club has affiliations with both the National Rifle Association and the Gun Owners Action League of Massachusetts. We highly recommend that our members support these two valuable Associations.

TUESDAY NIGHT FUN SHOOTS

Dave Sparko conducts fun shoots on Tuesday evenings at the club. Competitors shoot .22 pistols at steel plates and a “Dueling Tree” of spinning targets, trying to move all of the discs to the opponent’s side of the tree. Match schedules will be posted on the club’s website and calenda
