HRC October Members’ Meeting
The Holyoke Revolver Club’s members meeting for the month of October will be held on its normal schedule (The first Wednesday of the Month), October 7, 2020. We will have this meeting indoors in the Club’s meeting room. Chairs will be appropriately spaced, and masked will be worn. Hope to see you there.
HRC Annual Members’ Meeting 2020
In order to accommodate more members, The Holyoke Revolver Club’s Annual Members’ Meeting for the month of November will be held on Saturday November 7, 2020; 1:00pm in the afternoon. This meeting will be held out-of-doors at the 50 yard range, in the afternoon, in order to allow all to social distance.
The annual meeting is when we vote for our Board members, so please try to make it to cast your vote. Please CLICK HERE for all the information.
Certifications Class for: Range Safety Officer
The Holyoke Revolver Club has scheduled our NRA Range Safety Officer Course for November 14, 2020. This class has a maximum student attendance of 8 people, and is now FULL.
If you had previously let us know that you were interested you will be receiving an email from the President to let you know that you have be signed up.

It is the time of the year that the Local Police departments carry out their Firearm Qualifications. The Holyoke PD, the SoHadley PD, and the HCCPD all qualify at our ranges. The different departments utilize different ranges. HRC members may use any range that is not in use by the PD or wait for the officers to complete their time. Date will be posted on the club Calendar.

HRC Members’ Activities
Western Mass Pistol League – Starting on October 19th, and every Monday after that. Practice on the indoor range every Friday evening. CLICK HERE for more information.

Governor’s Six Gun Shoot – The October shoot is CANCELED; November will be scheduled, whether permitting. CLICK HERE for more information.

Note: All outdoors events are weather permitting.
Renew Membership and Pay Online
The club has a convenient system in place for members to renew their memberships and pay for them without writing a check or stamping an envelope. The new system also saves the membership secretary’s time as he can keep the club roster up to date more quickly.
You may also print out the renewal application and mail it in will a check.

New Member Application Process
The HRC now has a new procedure for new member applicants to our club. New member applicants will sign up and attend the HRC Range Safety Training and Orientation class before attending the members’ meeting to join. For now we can only have 10 students at a time taking the class. The classes will be posted to the club Calendar.
After meeting the requirements of this class, applicants will bring their Membership Application approved by the HRC Instructor or Range Safety Officer to the next members’ meeting, where the membership will vote to accept their application.

The HRC Range Safety Training and Orientation (RST&O)
Existing members our welcome to come and monitor the class. This will offer you a chance to review all of the new range rules pertaining to each range individually and refresh your past safety training. Bring your HRC ID card with you.
HRC Communications and your responsibility
The Holyoke Revolver Club, Inc. (HRC) now provides all club information to its membership via email and our website at www.holyokerevolverclub.com. This increases the importance of all members opening up and reading email received from HRC.
It is the member’s responsibility to keep a current email address on file with our Membership Secretary at: email@example.com. The HRC assumes no liability or responsibility regarding its communications to members other than through these channels.
We ask that each notice from the HRC be opened and read. Please do not “unsubscribe” or block HRC emails. It is the member’s responsibility to read these emails and stay up to date with all information and possible changes the HRC passes on to its members.

The Holyoke Revolver Club Members Handbook is available on the website. This handbook covers all the clubs rules and regulations, some new and some just better explanations of the existing rules. It is your responsibility as a club member to know and follow these rules.

Outdoor Shooting Hours
A reminder that outdoor shooting hours are shorter in the fall and winter. For the month of September the hours are 8:00am to 7:00pm. For the month of October the hours are 8:00am to 6:00pm. These are hard and fast rules, independent of daylight conditions and are legally binding. Also, there can be no outdoor shooting on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.
NRA Basic Pistol Course
The club offers the NRA Basic Pistol course on the third Saturday of each month. Students who pass the course receive both an NRA Basic Shooting certificate and a MA Basic Firearms Safety certificate which allows them to apply for both A and CT licenses to carry firearms.

HRC First Shots Course
Looking for training specific to that new handgun you just purchased? HRC also conducts a course to familiarize new gun owners with the operation of their newly-acquired guns. The next class is scheduled is To Be Determined.

Also, if a New Member Applicant does not demonstrate the knowledge, skills and attitude to safely fire their firearm at the New HRC Range Safety Training and Orientation, they will be directed to take this class before that can become a member.

HRC Shooting 101
We will be scheduling the next Shooting 101 class in December. Please check the Club Calendar for the date.
Friends of the NRA – The October 30 day gun raffle.
Tickets are now available for the Gun a day raffle being held by the Friends of the NRA.
Tickets are $25.00 each. Each ticket giving you a chance to win a different firearm every day of October 2020.
You can purchase your tickets at many of the local gun shops, and at the HRC members’ meeting from our Board Officers, George Apgar and Cathy Wauczinski.
NRA and GOAL
HRC encourages its members to join the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the Gun Owners Action League of (GOAL). Carl Eger and Ed Pelland are the club’s recruiters for both organizations and can be found at the back of the room at the monthly members’ meetings. They offer memberships at a discount, and the NRA returns rebates of $5 and $10 for renewals and new memberships. Those funds are donated to the club’s junior programs.
50/50 Raffle & Members Drawing
Dave Pronovost won the 50/50 raffle at the September meeting, and Christopher Hampton’s name was drawn in the members’ raffle, but he was not at the meeting.
Joining the club at the August meeting were Richard Saunders of Granby, Bryan and Constance Agin, Andrew Pietras and Bogdan Nudniy, all of Chicopee, Bryan Crowther of Agawam and Whitney Baptiste of South Hadley were welcomed into the club at the September meeting.
