The Director of Fun

As some of you may already know our very own Director of Fun, Dave Sparko has had his email hacked. We are not sure if the attack originated from his beloved My Little Pony Collectors Club or possibly his online exposure researching and purchasing stuffed teddy bears.
He has taken care of the situation but in doing so he has lost his “Fun Alert” email list. So, if you were on or would like to be on his Fun Shoot email list version 2.0 send an email to him at with your email address AND name. Also, if you were on his EF&G list let him know you would like to be on that list as well. The next Fun Shoot will be this Tuesday August 3rd at the 50yd Covered Line.

Outdoor Shooting Hours

For the month of August, the shooting hours for All Outdoor Ranges is 8:00am to 7:30pm.
Please remember in September the hours will change to 8:00am to 7:00pm.
A friendly reminder, failure to abide by this simple but extremely important policy can result in loss of membership.

Club ID Card Labels – Officers & Range Safety Officer

The Holyoke Revolver Club has twelve Officers (Directors) and many Range Safety Officers (RSO). Should you see a member with their badge that has a logo at the bottom in yellow, know that these individuals are willing to assist with any questions, concerns, or issues you may have. Don’t hesitate to also suggest any ideas or improvements that can make our Club a better place for all. These folks are eager to listen, help, advise, and assist!!

Governors Report

Special Meeting Results
On July 21, 2021 a Special Appeal Meeting was held at the Clubhouse for (former) member Assad Awan to appeal the Boards decision in terminating his membership. Please click here for an explanation of the reasons behind the Boards decision. Over fifty members showed up for the meeting. After a full explanation, along with discussion and questions from the membership, a vote was taken. The membership in attendance voted unanimously to uphold the Boards decision. The Club would like to thank Mr. Awan for his cooperation in this matter and would also like for everyone to fully understand this is not a decision the Club is proud of. It was a decision that we were obligated to make for the Club as a whole. The Board of Officers would like to thank all of the members that took the time to attend this meeting, as well as those that wanted to but couldn’t make it.

Neighbor Complaint
This past Father’s Day the Holyoke Police were dispatched to the Club due to a distant neighbor complaining of gunfire at the Club. The two members that were shooting outside that morning were contacted and ultimately informed that by a unanimous vote of the Board, their memberships were terminated. The two members both chose to not appeal the decision.

The certificates will allow them to apply for both MA and CT firearm licenses.

First Shots Course

Looking for specific training on a new handgun you just purchased? The HRC conducts a course to familiarize new gun owners with the operation of their newly-acquired guns. We will schedule the next class when a minimum of 4 people are interested. Please contact if you are interested.

The HRC strongly encourages its members to join The Gun Owners Action League (GOAL).
GOAL is the premiere 2nd amendment organization here in the State of MA fighting hard for gun owners, our rights, ranges, retail stores, and the sport as a whole.
Carl Eger is the Club’s recruiter for GOAL and the National Rifle Association (NRA). He can be found at the back of the room at the monthly members meetings. He offers NRA memberships at a discount, and the NRA returns rebates to the Club of $5 for renewals, and $10 for new memberships.
Those funds are used to purchase our Club’s Juniors an NRA membership if they wish.
