The club’s annual High Power rifle clinic will be held May 12. The morning session includes instruction in the care and use of M1, M1A and other centerfire rifles, as well as an introduction to NRA high-power rifle competition. Participants move to the 100-yard range in the afternoon to shoot a high-power match. A few M1 rifles are available to borrow, with prior arrangement, and .30-06 and .308 ammo will be provided, Other centerfire rifles, including AR15s, may be used, with ammo provided by their owners. Course fee is $100, and junior shooters are welcome if accompanied by a parent or adult sponsor. Enrollment is limited to 10, and is only open to HRC members. Dave and Rick Wallis are in charge.
