This is a follow-up course to the Basic Pistol Safety course and provides a more hands-on shooting experience.
Shooting 101 will be held on the fourth Wednesday of every month from 7:00-9:30pm.
Class and Range
In the class and on the range, safe shooting rules will be reviewed. One or more NRA Instructors and Range Safety Officers will be available to answer questions and help you familiarize yourself with a many different types and calibers of handguns.
Each participant will have a 1-on-1 instruction on the range. You will have the opportunity to handle and shoot many different types and calibers of handguns.
A majority of class time will be spent on the range and actually handling and shooting handguns.
This experience should clearly demonstrate what you will and won’t like in a gun and which will fit and feel best. The club supplies firearms, ammunition, eye and ear protection (if you do not have your own).
Members and Non-members can attend. You must have a License to Carry (LTC) or have taken the Basic Pistol Safety course at the HRC. If you have taken a safety course elsewhere you must bring proof that you have participated in live fire exercises. You must bring your LTC or the HRC BPSC Certificate along with a government issued photo I.D.
Must be paid in advance to reserve your place in the class.
Space is limited to 10 participants per class.
$40.00 for HRC club members, Students that have taken the HRC Pistol Safety Course, and Non-Members with a LTC.
Due to limited enrollment payment is non-refundable, but rescheduling with a 24-hour notice will be allowed for the next available class. A class can only be rescheduled one time.
