The Governor’s Six Gun Shoot

Club Governor Tom Serricchio is holding the Club’s first SIX Gun Shoot on Saturday, September 23.
Setup is at 9:00 Start time: 10:00am End time: 3:00pm +/- subject to participants.
The course of fire will include six stages with various targets on the outdoor range, using pistols and revolvers in .22 and .38, two .22 rifles and a 12 gauge shotgun. The course fee is $6.00 per run. All firearms and ammo will be provided in ...

Dues to Increase for 2018

Citing the rising costs of maintenance and the need to fund needed capital projects, the board of directors voted to raise membership dues beginning with 2018 renewals and new memberships.  Adult memberships will be $120, spouses and seniors will pay $60, and juniors will be eligible to join at no cost after taking the safety course.  The decision to drop the $25 fee for juniors was based on new grant eligibility rules established ...

Ladies’ Night

The club recently held its first women-only shooting session, and there are plans to continue the program on the second Wednesday evening of each month.  During that time the indoor range is reserved for use by any and all female HRC members.  The get-togethers are informal, and details are on the club website.

A new Smith & Wesson .45 Shield pistol is being raffled by the club’s junior team to raise funds for its trip to the national championships in July. Tickets are $10, and available from team members and coaches through the club’s June meeting, when the winning ticket will be drawn.

High Power Rifle Clinic

The annual high power rifle clinic will be offered June 3 at HRC.  The morning session will include information on the M1, M1A and AR 15 rifles and their use in competition.  In the afternoon the clinic will move to the100-yard range for a demonstration match.  The clinic is only available to HRC members and the fee is $100.  Successful participants will be eligible to purchase rifles, accessories and ammunition from the Civilian Marksmanship Program.

The 24th annual Pioneer Valley Friends of NRA banquet will be held Friday, May 5 at the Castle of Knights on Memorial Drive in Chicopee. The club recently contracted with a professional cleaning company to do a thorough cleaning of the range, and has begun improvements on the backstop and surrounding walls.  Major renovations are in the planning stage.
