The annual matches of the WMPL will begin October 5 at the club. The weekly competitions are 30-round .22 gallery matches against other local clubs. The club will host a dinner October 3 at the Knights of Columbus #69 in Chicopee. Club members who have volunteered time for club activities will be guests of the club, and spouses, guests and other club members are welcome to attend at a nominal cost to be announced.

Eleven members took the NRA Range Safety Officer training course recently. They will join the instructors and RSOs in the club’s training programs.

The NRA Metallic Reloading course to be held on April 11th is FULL . Please check back with the website for the next class. The NRA Metallic Reloading course is a hands-on, all-day training session in the reloading of rifle and pistol cartridges. All materials are supplied, the fee is $75 and lunch is provided. State Representative Aaron Vega of Holyoke spoke at the February meeting of the club, discussing the 2014 gun bills and some issues that may come before the legislature in 2015. He recommended that club members contact their state senators and representatives on any of the subjects before the legislature, and promised to stay in contact with the club.

Membership Secretary Bill Burgess is accepting 2015 dues payments. Members who have not renewed will find their electronic access cards locked out following the February meeting. Citing higher costs of operation and the need for future maintenance funding, the board of directors has voted to raise the general membership fee to $100 per year, the first increase in more than ten years. Reduced fees for seniors, spouses and juniors will remain in effect.
